Making Art - An Overview

This chapter explains the individual terms and principles of art that come together to make a final piece. It describes the process of creation, including materials, assembly, and intention behind certain pieces. This includes the constraints of both the artist's intentions and views of the audience. This was seen in the creation of the Sesame Street character, Abby Cadabby, who was created to add a female character to the main cast. Artists were challenged to create a humorous and appealing female character without playing into stereotypes. To create the most appealing character for the intended audience, the creators worked with children to gain feedback and ideas that were effectively applied to create the beloved children’s character. (Also “craftsmanship” is spelled as “crafstmanship” on page three which I believe is a typo but also? How did that make it through editing if it’s a mistake?)
